Arrow  Weathervane Polished Copper

This is a distinctive wind direction indicator. Made of copper and brass it will not rust. It is polished and coated with a protective layer of lacquer. The effects of  the environment will eventually cause the lacquer to disappear.

Consequently, without the lacquer, the copper will develop a patina over its surface. This patina is not harmful to the weathervane. It will actually add character and gives the  Arrow Weathervane a unique identity.

The purpose of the Arrow is to point into the wind.  If the weathervane arrow is pointing south it indicates that the wind is blowing from the south. So then, this wind will be called a southerly.

Another purpose of a weathervane is to “Dress the House”. Some people suggest, “that the house is not dressed” unless it has a weathervane.

Proportions :

• The Arrow is 61cm long.
• The conical finial fashioned in copper is 190mm tall with a 60mm base.
• The two copper globes are 5.5cm and 10cm in diameter.
• The cast brass directionals measure 44cm in length with north, south, east and west letters 80mm high.
• The result, a very handsome and balanced weathervane.
• Attachment Bracket

There is an attaching bracket available. Made of three aluminium castings. It comes complete with grub screws and attaching screws. The bracket is available for $57.50. There is no additional postage if ordered with the weathervane.
